There’s a phrase, “Do not fear the difficulties at the beginning.” I think that’s what it means. When I performed, I often felt a great emptiness. It wasn’t so much a negative feeling as simply the emotion of “emptiness” itself, and it was overwhelming. But at some point, I felt that emptiness was constantly being filled with fear. This was especially intense last year, before I prepared for the TV programs “Sing Again 2” and “I Can See Your Voice 8.” But even this enormous fear was something new to me, so I think I got through it by continually reminding myself, “Let’s not fear the difficulties at the beginning.” It gave me so much strength.
