“There are times when I feel that way too, but it made me think I should pull myself together again and work hard at living.”

The first book I’m going to read today is *A Joke Called “I Want to Live”* by Heo Ji-woong. After going through the ordeal of a serious illness, Heo Ji-woong wrote this book as a healing message for people who are still facing difficult times. The passage I liked best was, “My circumstances do not take responsibility for me.” When I read that line, it really made me snap to attention. There are times when I’m having a hard time and feel somewhat victimized by my own life, too, and it made me think I should pull myself together again and work hard at living.
